| Sunday is Family Day at the Fair |

Sunday, July 26 is the day to grab the whole family and head out early to the Isanti County Fair to enjoy a full day of activities and entertainment at discounted gate, ride and grandstand admissions. With half admissions at the main gate for all ages until 10 a.m., specials savings on rides at the Midway starting noon with ‘Wristband Day’ going until 5 p.m., along with Kid’s Day FREE in the Grandstand, Sunday is the ideal day to bring the whole family to the fair. Starting at 8 a.m. there will be many FREE attractions and events beginning with WSCA Horseshow in the horse arena and the Isanti County Fair Car Show out by the fairgrounds pond. Opening at 9 a.m., the Wildlife exhibit, Children’s Farmyard and Pony Rides will be open for the young and old to enjoy. Also starting at 9 a.m., the Twin Cities Model Boat Club will be presenting a competitive points race in the fairgrounds pond. If you have never taken the time to see these radio controlled boats race in the pond, you are in for an enjoyable event. In addition, for those who want to ‘see it all’ - the Helicopter Rides will also be up and flying early Sunday morning. Take a ride and see the fair and Cambridge area from the air and don’t forget your camera. Returning this year, the Open Arms Church of God from Grasston will hold a Contemporary Church Service with the Open Arms Praise Band at 10 a.m. in the Bandshell. Come early and enjoy the Praise Band’s music along with the message of saving grace and the unconditional love of Christ through their music. All are invited. At 2 p.m., the Isanti County Fair Talent Contest will take to the Bandshell stage providing the best in local entertainment and talent. There will also be the Apple Pie Competition at the Open Class Exhibit Building. Warm up for Braham Pie Days and bring your best Apple Pie to the Community Building by 1:30. Judging will begin at 2 p.m. with a panel of local celebrity judges doing the tasting. More savings on ‘Family Day’ include “Kid’s Day Free in the Grandstand.” All children under age 12 will be admitted FREE to the grandstand when accompanied by an adult. This year’s Sunday grandstand event will be filled with plenty of action when AWF Wrestling takes to the ring to provide Christ centered, high class, wrestling events that are fun, positive, and entertaining for the whole family. A benefit for Special Olympics, 100 percent of the proceeds from the grandstand will be donated to the Cambridge-Isanti Community Area Special Olympics organization. Come out and support this great organization and enjoy an alcohol free event with the family. There will be entertainment continually throughout the day including FREE Trolley rides all day, entertainment by Professor Farquar and Pole Cat Annie with shows at noon, 2 and 4 p.m. The Beer Garden will open at noon and bingo will be starting at 1 p.m. Come early, bring the whole family and enjoy a full day of entertainment at “Family Day” at the Isanti County Fair on Sunday. |
