Lakes and Pines to offer financial help Print E-mail
Friday, 06 March 2009
Do you have past due mortgage or rent payments? Have you already lost your housing and staying with someone else? Do you need financial help to move into permanent housing of your own?

Lakes and Pines Community Action Council, Inc. has programs that may help you with those needs.

The Community Services Department offers tools for lower income residents who want to work to strengthen their families and communities.

With funds from the Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program and the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program help is available.

Funds are available to help with past due housing costs as well as eviction and foreclosure needs.

Funds are also available to help pay move-in costs for permanent housing if you are homeless or doubled up, living with another family.

The CSD advocates, with appropriate referrals, can help you work out a permanent housing plan that will allow you to live in stabilized housing and be more self-sufficient.

Call the Community Services Department advocates at 320-679-1800 or 1-800-832-6082 and select prompt #5.

I have recently heard that you assist with energy issues and help replace windows if needed to lower monthly energy costs. A little less than a year ago I bought a new house and it was summer time and no one told me what the bills were in the winter so I had to find out for myself. I have natural gas heat and there has been a few high bills that I am struggling with to make ends meet. I am a single girl and have to support myself so any assistance you could give would be excelent. Please let me know what you can do for me.
